Mykiya Thompson, DA
I’ve been a Dental Assistant for twelve years. Seven of those years chair side with Dr. Wiley. “Work is so much easier when you have a great team to share it with.” I’m grateful to be able to provide top quality care for patients. I also enjoy helping patients make a difference in their smile. There are lots of little things you can do to improve it! My goal as Dr. Wiley’s dental assistant is to make sure he’s prepared for your visit, you are relaxed and comfortable and you leave the dental chair happy.

When I’m not working, I absolutely love being a wife and mother to my two children. Most of my free time is spent supporting my kids in their sport activities, working out, and sneaking in a date night every now and then! I am a true Oregonian. It’s neat watching Portland change and grow over the years. See you soon!

Vonda Persijn
Vonda has been a private practice dental hygienist for 36 years; all of which have been with the same practice. She is happy to be caring for the third and fourth generation of some families! She was inspired to go into the prevention aspect of dentistry by having spent too much time as a patient. Vonda received her degree in dental hygiene from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale in June of 1981 and BS in nutrition in August of 1981.

Vonda is in awe of the beauty of the Pacific Northwest, the rejuvenating energy of the ocean, and the majesty of Mt. Hood. Her top priorities are spending time with her wonderful daughter (Go Ducks!), family and friends.

For the last 19 years, she has been honored to work with Dr. Wiley and feels lucky to work with a team of highly skilled professionals all dedicated to staying on the forefront of the latest science and advance technologies in dentistry.

Vonda's mission is to educate patients in the importance of maintaining a healthy mouth to help maintain a healthy body. She takes pride, and is passionate about, providing the highest quality of care in a compassionate and gentle way. Don't be fooled! She also has a crazy sense of humor! Who says dentistry can't be fun, too?

Dorcas G
I have been a dental hygienist for 23 years, having graduated from OHSU in 1992. I had always joked that I did not know what I wanted to be when I grew up, but am glad I decided on hygiene. It is a blast! After over 20 years, it still is because it is forever changing. Therapies and modalities of treatment change as science uncovers more information about the underlying causes of oral problems that also affect overall health.

I have many varied interests that include hiking, gardening, baking, cooking, family movie nights, traveling and being an advocate for animals. I am always open to new adventures that may come my way.

My goal is to have the same enthusiasm and caring when I retire as I did the first day I started my career. I consider my patients my extended family and truly care about their health and well being. And now, in the words of Forrest Gump, "That is all I have to say about that."

Reatha White
Reatha's passion for dentistry began at the age of 17 while working as a dental assistant in Southern California. After graduating from college she pursued her dental hygiene degree at Pasadena City College and was licensed in 1998. Reatha is an active member of the American Dental Hygiene Association and passionately stays current with continuing education courses on a variety of complex dental health topics. She also enjoys sharing her skills in local public health volunteer programs.

Reatha enjoys living in Southeast Portland and has excitedly become a part of the Portland community. As a lifelong outdoors enthusiast she spends her time cycling, hiking, practicing yoga and spending time with friends, family and her cat Ash.

Her philosophy in practice is to provide you with high quality dental hygiene care, while listening and working with you to achieve your dental goals.

Sarah Grossarth
Sarah is a highly dedicated expanded functions dental assistant. She grew up in Salem, OR and has been passionate about working in the dental field since the 5th grade. She is excited to be working at Dr. Wiley's dental practice and here to help you!

In her free time, Sarah enjoys learning about nutrition and health, spending time with family, playing classical guitar, bikram yoga, biking, gardening, and camping.

Sarah is pleased to be caring for you and your family’s oral health needs. It's nice going to a job every day that she enjoys so much!

Brandi Jones
I've been working in the dental field for seventeen years starting with my first five years as a dental assistant. I'm excited to help you understand dental insurance coverage, maximizing your insurance benefits and helping you understand and complete your dental treatment.

My favorite part of dentistry is observing patients coming to us scared, in pain, or "just not liking the dentist" and being able to change their perspective and watching them leave with a smile. I enjoy being part of a team that loves dentistry, loves our patients, and treats each patient like family.
